Back to the Basics: Mindset Reset Edition

Regular hockey season is over, although if you know hockey, you know it’s never really over, and we’re on to Spring hockey. School is winding down. The snow is gone and we’re preparing for severe weather. The air smells like thawed-out chaos. It’s that in-between season… and to be honest, I’m right there with it.

I’ve Been Craving a Reset

This year’s been a lot. Actually, the past five years have.

Health scares. Emotional exhaustion. A move. Decisions I didn’t see coming.

Some days I handled it gracefully. Other days I ugly-cried in the car and ate Cadbury eggs like they were vitamins. (No regrets.)

Somewhere along the way, the practices that usually help me feel grounded fell off.

I stopped journaling.

I stopped making time to reflect.

I let life get louder than my own thoughts.

But lately? I’ve been craving the basics again.

Not a 4 a.m. “boss babe” routine or a glow-up challenge.

Just quiet. Gratitude. A reset that fits into real life.

Why Resetting Matters

When life feels heavy, it’s not always about doing more.

Sometimes it’s about coming home to yourself.

Getting back to basics, small steps, simple gratitude, real presence, can be the most powerful thing you do. Because change doesn’t happen all at once. It happens in the small, faithful choices we make to show up for ourselves, one day at a time.

If you're rebuilding from a hard season, this post on building confidence and stepping into your power might speak to you, too.

So I Made a Journal And I’m Doing It With You

It’s called the 7-Day Mindset Reset, and it’s free.

It’s simple. Real. No pressure.

Just a few minutes a day to check in with your thoughts, shift your energy, and come back to yourself.

Not because I’ve figured everything out.

But because I’m finally ready to try again.

How to Use the 7-Day Mindset Reset

Each day, you’ll find a small prompt that helps you:

  • Release what you’re carrying that’s too heavy

  • Speak to yourself with a little more kindness

  • Take one small step forward (even if it’s tiny)

You don’t need a perfect morning routine or hours of free time.

You just need a few minutes of intentional space to breathe and reset.

If You’re Feeling the Same Way…

You’re not behind.

You’re just ready to come home to yourself again.

Let’s do this together.
